Anne Clampett

Head of Middle School

After completing my teacher training at the University of Brighton, I worked as a teacher and senior leader in different school settings in Hampshire and Sussex for 15 years. I made the move to the UAE in 2016, firstly joining a school in Abu Dhabi as Assistant Headteacher and then in 2019, I joined Horizon International School in Dubai as Assistant Principal.

I am a firm believer in lifelong learning, continuously develop my knowledge and skills as both an educator and a leader. Most recently, I completed a MSc in Educational Leadership and Management through the University of Portsmouth in the UK. I am always on the look out for professional reading materials to stay updated on different leadership styles.

In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities and challenges. When I was younger, I played field hockey regularly for my secondary school and also for a local ladies hockey team. I continued playing field hockey until I moved to the UAE in 2016. My other hobbies include hiking and running. I completed the London Marathon on two different occasions (with a personal best of 4 hours and 17 minutes in my most recent attempt), and I recently completed the Stranmilano Half Marathon in Italy in March 2024 with my husband.

I enjoy travelling and I try to combine my love of sport with travel where possible. I recently hiked in the Annapurna mountain range in Nepal and I conquered the iconic Inca Trail a number of years ago. My next challenge is to try skiing again after suffering a knee injury in 2019.
