Jessica Edwards
Head of Year 10
I joined GEMS Wellington International School in January
2022 as a Spanish and Italian Teacher, and I am delighted to be entering my
fifth year of teaching in Dubai as Head of Year 10. I feel very proud to be a
part of and to work alongside such a wonderful, multicultural community of
students, parents and staff.
A true passion of mine is foreign languages, and the ability
to communicate across cultures. After growing up and completing my secondary
education in Spain, and having spent a year working in a school in Italy, I
graduated from the University of Portsmouth in (BA Hons) in Applied Languages:
Spanish and Italian before starting my career as a language teacher.
My commitment and enthusiasm for the holistic growth and wellbeing of every child is at the heart of my reason for teaching. I feel strongly about the need for students to feel safe and encouraged to not only take responsibility for their own high standards of learning and behaviour but to also have an opportunity to lead, enthuse and collaborate as they transition into young adults. The fact I am able to share these passions with others and work closely with and support my Year Group in their own personal growth and journeys gives me great fulfilment.
